The FDA has finalized changes to the Nutrition Facts Panel for packaged food that will include additional nutrients and changes to current nutrients. These changes will go into effect on January 1, 2020 (or January 1, 2021, for companies that have less than $10 million in annual sales). At Medallion Labs we have the necessary tools to support you through this change: regulatory expertise and analytical measurements.

Database or Lab Testing
The answer isn’t which method is better, but where in the Product Life Cycle you should use these tools. Nutrient information derived from a database is very practical during the initial stages and reformulation. Lab testing reduces labeling risk and provides tangible quality monitoring as well as ensuring regulatory compliance.
