VIDAS Listeria monocytogenes (LMX) is an automated qualitative test for use on the VIDAS for the detection of Listeria monocytogenes in human food products and environmental samples using the ELFA technique (Enzyme Linked Fluorescent Assay). Confirmation services also available.

VIDAS Listeria monocytogenes Xpress (LMX) is an enzyme immunoassay for the detection of Listeria monocytogenes antigens using the ELFA method (Enzyme Linked Fluorescent Assay). Note that a percentage of all raw commodities may contain an inherent low level of these organisms.
PCR and ELFA Method Comparison - Which method should I choose?

Assay What does this test measure? Test Advantage PCR GENE-UP® Molecular Assay Detects pathogens using target sections of DNA that are specific to that pathogen, making the assay more sensitive than the VIDAS. Fewer false negatives and fewer false positives. ELFA VIDAS Immunoassay Detects pathogens by having proteins bind to pathogen-specific receptors. More cost effective.
