Technical data sheet
Method description
Porcine pancreatic alpha amylase (Megazyme) was pre-incubated with four different dilutions of the sample in 50 mM Maleate buffer, pH 6.0, at 40°C for 20 minutes prior to alpha amylase activity determination and evaluated against a control pre-incubated with buffer alone. Alpha amylase activity was assayed by AOAC official method 2002.01.
One alpha amylase inhibitor unit (AAIU) is defined as the amount which will reduce two units of alpha amylase by 50% under standard assay conditions.
