Range of 1-6 ppm

Sample Size Requirements:

500 grams

Equipment:

Microwell Strip Reader - Spectrophotometer

Reportable Units:

ppm

Turn Around Time:

10 Business Days

Is Rush Available?
Yes

Method Reference:

Neogen 8830

Method Description:

The sample is extracted into solvent and the extract is added to a solution of enzyme-conjugated toxin. The mixture is then transferred to an antibody-coated plastic well where the free toxin and the enzyme-conjugated toxin compete for antibody sites. After rinsing, a color developing agent and a stop solution are added. The color of the well is evaluated for the presence/quantity of fumonisins in the sample.

Additional Information:

This test is ISO/IEC 17025 accredited through A2LA, Certificate # 2769.01.

This test measures the total amount of fumonisin (FB1, FB2 and FB3), produced by several species of Fusarium molds in a sample. It does not provide results that are specific to the individual fumonisin species.

Concentrated food additives, colors and flavors may cause interferences when using ELISA-based test methods.
